We build the dating tools we wished existed.
DateWiseAI started after one of our cofounders watched a family member lose $40,000 to a romance scam. We're now a small team obsessed with making online dating safer, calmer, and more honest.
Our principles
Most dating products are optimized to keep you swiping. We're optimized to help you build a real connection — and then, ideally, stop needing us. That sounds bad for business, but it's the only honest way to do this.
1. Your safety beats your engagement.
We will never use dark patterns, manufactured anxiety, or fake matches to keep you on the site. If a tool tells you to slow down or pause talking to someone, that's the tool working correctly.
2. Real privacy, not "privacy".
Most of our tools run entirely in your browser. We don't store the bios you paste in, we don't transcribe your messages to a server, and we don't sell data. The few features that need a server use ephemeral processing.
3. Real research, not vibes.
When we make claims about attachment, communication, or scams, we link to actual studies. When research is mixed, we say so. When we don't know, we say that too.
4. Inclusive by default.
Our guides cover same-sex dating, cross-cultural couples, LDR, neurodivergent communication, and dating after divorce — not as a checkbox, but because most readers are dealing with at least one of these realities.
How we make money
Two ways, both disclosed:
- Display advertising (Google AdSense). Ads are clearly labeled and never look like article content.
- Affiliate partnerships with safety tools and verified dating services we'd recommend anyway. We disclose these on the relevant pages.
We do not take money from dating apps in exchange for favorable reviews. We do not take money from background-check services that share your data without consent. We turn down sponsorships every month.
The team
We're a distributed team of four — a former safety researcher at a major dating platform, a product designer who's spent a decade on consumer apps, a writer who covered online fraud for several years, and a community moderator who's been doing this since the MySpace era. We're not going to pretend we have a 50-person staff. Small and honest beats big and slick.
